The newly completed straw-bale building is our amazing low-impact venue for the evening – come and see it.

Hot and cold drinks will be provided.

We’ll review and celebrate 2014, look forward to 2015 and elect a chair, a secretary and a treasurer for the year.

Elections – all posts are (always) up for grabs, would you like to be our Secretary?

Please come and help set our priorities and direction for Bristol Green Capital 2015 – let’s share thoughts and ideas.

Everybody is welcome, we look forward to seeing you.

A bit more about the strawbale building (plagiarised from a report in The Bishopston Society’s latest magazine, written by Nicki Morgan from the Golden Hill Community Garden):
“We hired specialists to come in and design it and play a large part in showing some of our volunteers the skills they needed. The build is made of straw on top of simple hardcore foundations with some tires filled with clay. The straw has then been covered in clay/lime render. We’ve had open days for straw spiking and mud flinging and are now carrying out finishing touches. This gives us a warm space in the wet windy days which is a vital requirement for some groups to be able to come to the garden. In the future we are also considering hiring it out for small meetings, pizza parties, etc.”
Sustainable Bishopston is proud to be the first of those small groups hiring the space for a meeting.
